Fantastic evening of races at the Warsaw Girls Swimming Sectional. To make Saturday’s Finals, swimmers must finish in the top 16 in their event. Finals are broken into a Consolation race (places 9-16) and a Finals race (places 1-8). Sophomore Bailey Anderson qualified sixth in the 50 free and eighth in the 100 free. Junior, Cassie Rich qualified in fourteenth place in the 200 IM and sixteen place in the 100 Backstroke. Freshman Mya Drudge qualified eleventh in the 200 Free and just missed qualifying in the 500 free with a personal best time, dropping over seven seconds. The 200 Free Relay Team of Bailey Anderson, Maris Overbey, Mya Drudge, and Claire Haney qualified fifth. The 400 Free Relay Team of Bailey Anderson, Makenna Lowe, Mya Drudge, and Malia Kreft swam a season’s best time by six seconds and qualified eighth. The 200 Medley Relay of Sophia Becker, Cassie Rich, Malia Kreft, and Claire Haney qualified nineth. Other notable swims included: Malia Kreft who swam two personal best times. First of those being the 50 free and she followed that performance with a three second drop in the 100 back. Nadine Kessels finished out our individual races with a three second time drop in the 100 Breaststroke. Bailey Gaerte and Alexis Ellliot will begin Diving Preliminaries on Saturday morning at 9 am. Swimming Finals are set to begin at 1 pm.
