Indians Claim 2nd Straight Tecumseh Invitational Title

The Tecumseh girls golf team continued to roll on Monday when they claimed the Tecumseh Invitational Tournament championship for a second straight year with a winning score of 390 to win the event. The win was the Indians second straight tournament championship of the Season after claiming the Adrian Maple Invite crown last week. Junior Sydney Walsh led the Indians with score of 90 to finish 3rd in the event. Walsh was followed by teammates Isabella Wanke with a 94 and Olivia Schmidt’s 95 as the Indians finished 3-4-5 on the tournament’s individual leaderboard. Rounding out the Tecumseh effort were Alexa Jensen and Rhys Dunham each carding scores of 111. The Indians had a second team in the event which was led by Junior Layla Fisher who finished sixth on the tournament leaderboard with a 96. Monroe’s Asken Aaron and Gracie Gottschalk finished 1-2 in the individual standings with scores of 84 and 89 for the Trojans, who finished 2nd in the event with a score of 409. Other participants in the tournament included Ann Arbor Pioneer (423), Temperance Bedford (438), Tecumseh B (457), Petersburg Summerfield (459), Saline (490) and Temperance Bedford B (501). The Indians will be in action again tomorrow when the travel to Hudson Mill golf course in Dexter to start SEC league action against Dexter and Jackson High Schools.
