Tennis Earns 2-1 Record at Adrian Quad

Tecumseh Tennis opened its season today at a quad event hosted by Adrian High School. The Indians went 2-1 on the day, earning wins over Adrian and Lincoln and falling to Jackson Northwest. Against Jackson Northwest, Lucas Rodriguez battled through a tough match at No. 1 singles. After suffering an injury in the first set, Lucas continued to compete but ultimately fell 3-6, 4-6. Kyle Barden also played a close match at No. 2 singles, losing 4-6, 6-0, 0-1. Jackson Northwest defeated Tecumseh 8-0. Tecumseh bounced back against Lincoln, winning five of the six courts. Sebastian Nieto turned in a dominant performance at No. 2 singles, winning 6-0, 6-1. At No. 3 singles, Blake Dyer earned a 7-5, 6-2 victory, while freshman Liam Coe picked up his first win of the season at No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-4. The Indians also dominated both doubles matches. Tyler Roan and Colton Nicolai cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 1 doubles, while Archer McKibben and Logan McMichael won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles. Tecumseh followed that performance by sweeping Adrian, winning all six courts. Kyle Barden led the way at No. 1 singles with a convincing 6-1, 6-0 victory. Blake Dyer also battled back after dropping the first set at No. 3 singles, rallying to win 5-7, 6-3, 1-0. The Indians will travel to Monroe on Wednesday, August 19, to take on Airport High School.
