The Tecumseh Indian Girls Golf Team opened their season on a positive note capturing 1st Place in the Adrian Maple Invitational on Tuesday. The Indians placed all 5 of their players in the top ten of the event, led by seniors Isabella Wanke and Alexa Jensen whose 92 and 93 respectively placed the in 2nd and 3rd place in the event right behind medalist Gracie Gottschalk of Monroe who carded a tournament best of 80 to win the tournament. Junior Sydney Walsh finished in a 4th place tie with Ashken Aaron of Monroe, each shooting a 93. 5th and 6th place belonged Adrian Madison juniors Anahi Baez and Olivia Garcia with scores of 97 and 100. Tecumseh’s final two scores included sophomore Rhys Dunham’s 8th place finish with a 101 and Olivia Schmidt’s 102 good for 9th place. Monroe’s Molly Casey rounded out the top ten with a 105 in the 27-player field. In the team scoring, Tecumseh finished 1st with a score of 380, 16 shots ahead shots ahead of 2nd place Monroe which shot 396. Adrian Madison was 3rd with a total of 413. The Indians next action will be next Monday when they host the annual Tecumseh Invitational at Tecumseh Golf Club starting at 10 am.
