Vikings Open OCC Play with a Big Win on the Road

The Vikings traveled to Lancaster High School to open up the OCC Buckeye season and came away with a hard fought 67-66 victory. The Vikings lead 23 - 16 after one quarter of play behind 11 points from Brody fields and eight points from Kaden Purdon. The Gales clawed back in the second quarter, as the Vikings held a slim 37-29 lead at the break. The third period saw the Vikings extend their lead to 14 points with the score being 50-39. The fourth quarter saw the Gales closed the gap to one point with a little over a minute remaining. The Vikings were able to seal the victory at the free throw line along with key rebounds as time expired. The Gales were victorious in the JV game by a score of 55-52 and in the freshman game by a score of 51-39. The Vikings return to action on Tuesday night as they travel to Hilliard Darby with the freshman tipping at 4:30pm.
