The Southwood Lady Knights showcased the strength of teamwork on Saturday at the New Haven Classic, held on Huntington University’s rolling course. Against a deep field of 30 teams, the Knights placed 6th overall, proving their ability to compete in a highly competitive environment. The highlight of the day was the team’s impressive pack running. Paige Nelson (20th, 22:48.6), Hailey Collins (29th, 23:14.9), Elin Tyson (31st, 23:24.9), and Andrea Widemon (33rd, 23:55.7) all finished within just over a minute of one another, securing a strong scoring core for the Lady Knights. Olivia Ranck added the final team points with a 105th place finish (29:49.4), while Grace Ranck rounded out the team effort in 124th (33:53.8). Out of 132 runners in the Division A girls’ race, the Lady Knights demonstrated the power of running as a team — staying close, pushing one another, and finishing strong. In the boys' race, Jericho Corn continues to display solid performances as he earned yet a 3rd consecutive PR on the challenging Huntington course. Jericho finished 101st overall, with the new personal best time of 21:28.1. Andrew Wright also competed for the Knights, finishing 121st in 22:28.6 in a field of 185 runners.
