Southwood Varsity vs Blackford (106 - 74) Win Southwood Varsity vs North Miami (106 - 73) Win Southwood Varsity vs Peru (106 - 77) Win Southwood Varsity vs Carroll Jr-Sr High School (Flora) (106 - 95) Win Southwood Knights hosted the Knight Relays and celebrated Senior Night this past Friday. The evening was a unique shift from traditional track meets, sporting an evening of all coed relays including field events. Highlights on the night included the following coed teams from Southwood: The High Jump Team of Gabe Mealy, Alexis Lopez, Bo Liddick, Danika Holbrook, and Aiden Hawkins earned a 1st Place Finish with a combined height of 15' 11". The Shot Put Team of Gabe Mealy (PR 45' 4.25"), Ryleigh Pulley, Jayden Harrell, Danika Holbrook, Caleb Colyer, and Lily Robinson placed 1st with a combined Put of 132' 05". The Discus Team of Gabe Mealy (PR of 131' 3"), Ryleigh Pulley, Danika Holbrook, Jayden Harrell, Caleb Colyer, and Lily Robinson placed 4th with a combined throw of 356' 09". In the Long Jump, the coed team of Alexis Lopez, Poncho Lopez, Adi Deaton, Isaiah Widemon, Hannah Garrison, and Andrew Wright placed 3rd with a combined jump of 62' 6.75". In the 2400m Relay, Southwood placed 1st in a time of 6:54.9. Hailey Collins led off the relay team with an 800m run, followed by Luke Andrews on a 2nd 800m leg, Lola Winer followed with a 400m sprint, and Cooper Drake anchored n a 2nd 400m sprint. The Shuttle Hurdle relay team of Kaley Denney, Bo Liddick, Alexis Lopez, and Poncho Lopez was nudged out by Carroll and Peru, placing 3rd in a time of 1:18.1. The 3200m Relay team picked up a Win with a time of 10:10.1. Hailey Collins, Blake Enyeart, Ella Chambers, and Owen Enyeart each ran an 800m leg to bring the Knights another 1st place finish. In a tight race, separated by only 5 10ths of a second, the 4x100m Relay team of Andrea Widemon, Blake Henderson, Adi Deaton, and Weston Greiner ran a 50.6, getting edged out by Carroll's 50.1 and Blackford's 50.4. The DMR (distance medley) relay squad of Paige Nelson (1200m), Owen Enyeart (400m), Jaiya Corn (800m), and Luke Andrews (1600m) finished in 1st place with a time of 13.16.9. In the SMR (sprint medley), Adi Deaton (100m), Weston Greiner (100m), Presley Kroft (200m), and Cooper Drake (400m) placed 1st with a time of 1:46.2. 800m Relay team placed 4th in 1:53.0. Andrea Widemon, Blake Henderson, Adi Deaton, and Aiden Hawkins each ran a 200m sprint. The 4x400m Relay team of Lola Winer, Owen Enyeart, Presley Kroft, and Cooper Drake raced to yet another 1st place finish with a time of 4:01.2. Finishing out the evening and determining the final points for the Southwood Knights, the Throwers Relay of Gabe Mealy, Ryleigh Pulley, Brystol Moss, and Danika Holbrook was edged out by North Miami in a 53.1 to 53.5 tight finish, placing 2nd overall. The Knights finished out the 2nd Annual Knight Relays picking up for 4 more wins on the season, taking the boys overall record to 6 wins & 8 losses and the girls record to 13 wins & 6 losses. The Knights will compete in a triangular meet with Lewis Cass and Caston tomorrow night and look toward the TRC the Friday.
