Knights 4x800 Squad Breaks Meet Record at Eastbrook Invite

Mississinewa 131 Eastbrook 78 Northfield 52 Southwood 51 Northeastern 20 Despite final results that handed the Knights 3 losses and only 1 win on the night, the Knights boys’ team displayed some standout individual performances. The 4x800m Relay team of James Unger, Luke Andrews, Owen Enyeart, and Cooper Drake started out the night by not only setting a new PR but also a new Eastbrook Invitational meet record. The relay squad cruised to a first place finish in a time of 8:31.65, beating their previous time by more 20 seconds. Other meet highlights for the Knights included: Poncho Lopez – 3rd Place in 110 High Hurdles with a new PR of 17.83 and 3rd Place in the 300m Hurdles, also a new PR of 45.51. James Unger achieved 3rd Place in the 1600m Run, setting a new PR of 4:57.27. James set a second PR in the 3200m Run, covering the distance in 10:48.71 to finish 3rd overall. After helping the 4x800m relay team set a record, Luke Andrews went on to finish the 1600m Run in 5:11.68, good enough for a 4th place finish. The 4x100m Relay Team of Blake Henderson, Dylan Cochran, Bo Liddick, and Tripper Schnepp was able to score team points by finishing 5th. In a competitive field of 400m runners, Cooper Drake set a new PR of 53.89, finishing in 2nd place. Owen Enyeart added more team point in the 400 by finishing 4th in a time of 55.25. Blake Enyeart set a new personal record of 2:17.98 in the 800m Run. The 4x400m Relay squad of Blake Enyeart, Owen Enyeart, Cooper Drake, and Weston Greiner put together 4 solid legs to pull out a 2nd place finish in a new PR time of 3:45.97. Leading the field event performances by setting 2 new personal records, Gabe Mealy finished 2nd in the Shot Put with a put of 43’ 5.25” and he placed 4th in the High Jump with a height 5’ 8”. Other competitors for Knights were Jericho Corn (3200m Run), Blake Henderson (100m & 200m Dashes), Stratten Whiteman (800m Run), Tripper Schnepp (100m & 200m Dashes), Jayden Hartline (Shot Put & Discus), Bo Liddick (High Jump), Poncho Lopez (Long Jump), Andrew Wright (Long Jump)
