Eastbrook = 87 Southwood = 85 Mississinewa = 70 Northfield = 50 Northeastern = 32 In a tough loss against a strong Eastbrook team, the Lady Knights showcased their track and field skills to pick up 3 more wins on the season at the Eastbrook Invitational, extending their record to 7-2. Highlights on night and scoring team points for Southwood: The undefeated 4x800m Relay Team of Hailey Collins, Lola Winer, Paige Nelson, and Ella Chambers coasted to another 1st Place Finish. In the 100m Hurdles, Andrea Widemon placed 3rd and Kaley Denney finished 6th. After an unexpected stumble, Adi Deaton managed recover to a 3rd Place finish in the 100m Dash. Paige Nelson placed 4th in the 1600m Run setting a new PR of 6:03.94. Losing the lead with a poor handoff on the backstretch, the 4x100m Relay Team of Adi Deaton, Andrea Widemon, Lola Winer, and Presley Kroft picked up 6 team points with a 2nd place finish in a time of 55.55. Presley Kroft and Ella Chambers displayed strong performances in the 400m Dash as Kroft took the win in a time of 1:07.18 and Chambers placed 3rd in the field in a time of 1:08.2. Pushing the pace out off the gun in the 800m Run, Hailey Collins led the 800m field from start to finish, picking up the win in 2:40.68. Jaiya Corn was able to hang on to a 5th place finish in a time of 2:56.76, pulling in another point for the Lady Knights. Presley Kroft picked up a couple more team points in the 200m Dash by placing 4th overall. Paige Nelson ran a PR in the 3200m Run, placing 5th in the field in a time of 13:22.32. In the Field Events, Ryleigh Pulley set a new PR in the both the shot and discus, also scoring points for the Lady Knights. She placed 3rd in the discus with a throw of 84' 11 and 4th in the Shot with a put of 27' 5.5". Danika Holbrook finished 5th overall in the Shot Put with a PR put of 27' 3.5". The 4x400m Relay team of Lola Winer, Hailey Collins, Presley Kroft, and Alexis Lopez closed out the evening with another solid win, setting a new PR for the squad of 4:33.06. A very special highlight on the night, was our own Alexis Lopez earning the Female Athlete of the Eastbrook Invite. Alexis competed in 4 events, picking up wins in 3. In the High Jump competition, Alexis placed 1st overall, clearing a height of 5'2, not only setting a new PR, but also setting a new meet record. In the Long Jump, Alexis leaped to a 2nd place finish with a distance of 13' 11". In addition to her contribution to the 1st place finish in the 4x400 relay, Alexis picked up another win in the 300m Hurdles by defeating the field of 8 hurdlers in 52.52. Other Lady Knights competitors on the Knight included: Lily Robinson in the Discus, Adi Deaton in the Long Jump, Madisyn Wilburn in the 100m Dash, Andrea Widemon in the 200m Dash, Kaley Denney in the 300m Hurdles, and Jaiya Corn in the 1600m Run.
