Southwood Boys and Girls Cross Country competed in the Blackford Invitational Saturday morning. For the Knights, James Unger placed 6th in a time of 18:07.8. Luke Andrews finished 20th in a time 19:27.9. Running as the 3rd man for Southwood, Andrew Wright placed 34th overall, while Jericho Corn finished with a time of 24:40.6. The Blackford invite fielded 56 runners in the boys' race. In the girls' race, the Lady Knights fell short of competing as a full team as illness continues to plague the squad. Paige Nelson led the Lady Knights with a 5th place finish in a time of 22:09.8. Senior Jaiya Corn returned to her first race on the season after illness prevented her from competing. Jaiya finished 24th in a time of 26.16.8. Olivia Ranck ( 33rd in 28:43.9) and Makenna Hunter (38th in 31:08.1) also competed for the Knights. The field of runners in the girls race was 51.
