Cross Country Competes at Manchester

The Knights Varsity Cross Country Boys Team competed at Manchester in a 4 way event featuring Manchester, Central Noble, Tritan, and the Knights. Running as an incomplete team, the Knights were only able to compete as individuals in the field of 24 runners. James Unger finished as the top runner for the Knights as he cruised to a 2nd Place overall finish is a time of 18:03. Running 2nd for the Knights was sophomore, Andrew Wright, placing 14th overall in a time of 22:19.4. New to the sport of cross country, freshman Jericho Corn finished 21st in a time of 26:33.7. Overall Team Scores: Manchester (24) Central Noble (2) Southwood (Inc) Triton (Inc) In the Girls Event, the Lady Knights also competed as an incomplete team against Manchester, Triton, and Central Noble. Manchester was the only complete team on the night, thus winning the event with 1 point. Freshman, Paige Nelson, led the Lady Knights with a time of 22:05.9 and a 3rd Place finish in the field of 16 runners. Junior and new comer to the sport of cross country, Hailey Collins finished 4th overall in a time of 22:48.1. Olivia Ranck and Makenna Hunter also competed for the Knights finishing in 12th and 16th place. The Knights anticipate the return of their 2 senior leaders, Luke Andrews and Jaiya Corn, who are recovering from injury and illness. The Knights will compete in the Marion Invite at IWU on September 7th.
