Knights traveled across town to face MSD rival Northfield. In a game dominated by the guys on the mound, the Knights were able to compete for a long, grueling 13 innings. Southwood got 2 runs on the board in the 2nd coming off of 2 Northfield errors. The bats went quiet for a couple innings and then facing a 4-2 deficit Jaret Denney led off the 6th with a double down the line and then Ryan Deeter hitting a ground ball that turned into an error that scored Denney. Going into the 7th, the Knights needed 1 run to stay alive. Jaron Craft and Dalton Barney led off with singles and then Jaret Denney had an RBI groundout to tie up the game. In extras there wasn't much action on either side for the majority of it. Then came the top of the 13th inning. Coan Holloway led off the inning with a single, followed by a Jackson Smith hit by pitch. Jaron Craft then put down a bunt that was thrown into right field allowing Holloway and Smith to score. Another Northfield error would then allow Craft to score and make it 7-4. Craft went an astounding 8 2/3 innings before reaching his 120 pitch limit. Brody Height followed him with 4 1/3 innings giving up only 1 hit in that span.
