The Southwood girls closed out the regular season with a strong showing at the Three Rivers Conference Cross Country Championship, led by another outstanding performance from freshman Ava Stouffer. Ava finished 2nd overall in the conference with a time of 19:55.4, continuing what has been an incredible freshman season. Ava has consistently competed at the front of some very strong fields, and finishing as the TRC runner-up is another tremendous accomplishment. The Knights also had some great individual progress: Paige Nelson ran a season best time of 22:54.5, putting together stronger performances as the season moves into the postseason. Freshmen, Elliana Simpson posted another personal record of 27:38.3, finishing 50th. That’s another big step forward for Ellie, continuing her steady improvement throughout the season. Also representing Southwood were Grace Ranck and Olivia Ranck (36:47.5, 66th). Grace ran her 2nd best time of the season finishing in 31:52 (62nd). The Lady Knights finished 6th as a team in the Three Rivers Conference, and now the focus turns to the postseason. There is still more work to do, more growth to be made, and more opportunities ahead. In the Boys Race, Andrew Wright (66th) led the way for Southwood, finishing in 23:53.8. Bentley Hawkins (70th) followed with a 25:27.9, continuing to show improvement. Freshman, Jacob Andrews finished in 26:36.5 and 72nd place. With only three runners competing, the Knights did not field a complete team.
