Southwood Varsity Knights scored eight runs in the fourth inning, which helped them defeat Union City Varsity Indians 2026 13-1 on Tuesday at Union City High School. Avery Lovatto homered to right field, scoring two runs, a wild pitch scored one run, Hayven Schipper singled, scoring two runs, and Izzy Ashba homered to center field, scoring three runs. A single by Natalie Sutphin on a full count put Southwood Varsity Knights on the board in the top of the second. Sutphin earned the win for Southwood Varsity Knights. The hurler surrendered two hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out none and walking two. Kierra Thacker took the loss for Union City Varsity Indians 2026. The starter went six innings, allowing 13 runs (five earned) on 13 hits, striking out 12 and walking two. Taylor Haecker threw one inning of shutout ball for Southwood Varsity Knights in relief.
