Knights Season Ends in 13-2 Loss

Southwood Varsity Knights had trouble keeping up with North Miami Warriors in a 13-2 loss on Saturday. North Miami Warriors got on the board in the first inning after an error scored one run. In the bottom of the first inning, Southwood Varsity Knights went back into the lead after Brody Height doubled to left field, and Owen Davis singled down the left field line, each scoring one run. , which helped North Miami Warriors tie the game at two in the top of the fourth. North Miami Warriors flipped the game on its head in the top of the fifth, scoring five runs on four hits to take the lead, 7-2. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to left field by Logan Smith that drove in two. North Miami Warriors scored six runs on five hits in the top of the sixth inning. Quinn Hostetler singled, scoring two runs, Jordan Simon singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Ryan Meredith singled, scoring one run, and an error scored one run. Hostetler earned the win for North Miami Warriors. The righty surrendered four hits and two runs over six innings, striking out 10 and walking four. Eli Shelhamer took the loss for Southwood Varsity Knights. The hurler went four and two-thirds innings, surrendering seven runs (two earned) on seven hits, striking out one and walking one. Davis and Height were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Southwood Varsity Knights. Height went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Southwood Varsity Knights in hits.
