The Southwood Knights were represented well at the 2026 Regional Championship Meet as two athletes competed against some of the top runners in the state in highly competitive distance events. Senior Cooper Drake qualified for the regional in the 800m Run and delivered an outstanding performance to close out his high school track and field career. Competing in a loaded field of talented athletes, Drake placed 10th overall while setting a new personal record of 1:59.58. Breaking the two-minute barrier was a fitting finish for a senior who consistently competed with determination and toughness throughout his career. Sophomore Blake Enyeart also advanced to the regional meet in the 1600m Run. Facing a deep field of experienced distance runners, Enyeart finished 13th overall with a personal-best time of 4:44.39. The performance was an impressive step forward for the young runner, who only recently began competing in the event, and provides a strong foundation as he looks toward the future. The Knights wrapped up the season with several strong postseason performances and valuable experience competing at one of the highest levels in Indiana high school track and field.
