The Southwood Lady Knights closed out their 2026 track and field season Tuesday night at the Regional Championship Meet against some of the top competition in the state. While the team season came to an end for most athletes, senior Alexis Lopez extended her outstanding postseason run by qualifying for the IHSAA State Finals in the High Jump. Lola Winer represented the Lady Knights in the 400m Dash, finishing 16th overall with a time of 64.15. Simply qualifying for the regional in an event as competitive as the 400m Dash is a tremendous accomplishment and a reflection of the growth and work she put in throughout the season. The Lady Knights’ 4x800m Relay team of Hailey Collins, Presley Kroft, Paige Nelson, and Lola Winer also competed in a loaded regional field, placing 12th with a season-best time of 10:27.71. The relay squad continued to improve throughout the postseason and finished the year with one of their strongest performances of the season. Southwood now turns its attention to the State Finals as Alexis Lopez prepares to represent the Lady Knights on the biggest stage in Indiana high school track and field.
