The Southwood Lady Knights Track team competed in the Sectional Championship Tuesday night at Marion High School. Highlights on the night included: Lola Winer qualifying for Regionals in the 400m Dash by finishing 3rd overall in a time of 63.81. Sydney Leal set a new personal record of 1:13.85 in the 400m dash. Senior, Hailey Collins, finished 11th in the 800m Run in a time of 2:40.3. Paige Nelson finished 9th in the 1600m Run (5:59.74) and 10th in the 3200m Run (13.39.36). Kaley Denney set a new PR of 56.79 in the 300m Hurdles. Alexis Lopez tied for 3rd Place in the High Jump, qualifying for the Regional Championship. In a field of 26 throwers, Ryleigh Pulley earned points for the Lady Knights team by placing 6th overall in both the Shot Put and Discus. In the Relays, the 4x800m Squad of Hailey Collins, Presley Kroft, Paige Nelson, and Lola Winer finished 3rd (10:28.17) in a competitive field of mid-distance runners. Their performance earned them a spot at the Regional Championship at Carroll on Tuesday. The 4x100m squad of Andrea Widemon, Elin Tyson, Presley Kroft, and Adi Deaton also pulled in team points for the Lady Knights, placing 5th overall in a time of 52.67. The 4x4 squad of Hailey Collins, Andrea Widemon, Presley Kroft, and Lola Winer also placed 5th in the field of 12 teams, with a season best time of 4:25.42.
