May 20, 2026 vs. Wabash Southwood Varsity Knights took Wednesday's game in dramatic fashion, with a 4-3 walk-off victory over Wabash. The game was tied at three in the bottom of the seventh when an error scored one run. Southwood Varsity Knights were the first to get on the board in the third when Izzy Ashba drew a walk, scoring one run. Wabash took the lead in the top of the fourth inning after Ava Lynn grounded out, and Baelee Noland singled to center field, each scoring one run. Andi Conliff hit a solo home run to center field in the top of the fifth for the Wabash. Ashba hit a solo home run to center field in the bottom of the fifth for the Southwood Varsity Knights. Southwood Varsity Knights captured the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the seventh after Gracie Lambert doubled to center field, and Wabash committed an error, each scoring one run. Natalie Sutphin opened the game for Southwood Varsity Knights. The pitcher gave up nine hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking none. Kalli Davis began the game for Wabash. The starter allowed eight hits and four runs (three earned) over six and one-third innings, striking out seven and walking four. Ashba drove the middle of the lineup, leading Southwood Varsity Knights with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 1-for-2 on the day. Number eight hitter, Alivia Pershing, showed the depth of Southwood Varsity Knights's lineup, by leading them with two hits in three at bats. Southwood Varsity Knights turned one double play in the game. Southwood Varsity Knights were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Lambert had the most chances in the field with nine. Leadoff hitter Conliff led Wabash with three hits in four at bats. Noland, Lynn, and Conliff each drove in one run for Wabash. Elli Hall collected two hits for Wabash in three at bats. Next up for Southwood Varsity Knights is a game at Manchester on Wednesday.
