Southwood Varsity Knights Cannot Hold Onto Lead Versus Northwestern Varsity vs Northwestern (7 - 13) Loss Southwood Varsity Knights lost to Northwestern 13-7 on Wednesday even though they once led by five runs. Southwood Varsity Knights opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to three doubles. Southwood Varsity Knights first got on the board when Lambert doubled, scoring two runs. Northwestern flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fourth, scoring eight runs on five hits to take the lead, 12-7. The biggest blow in the inning was an error that drove in two. Hedges earned the win for Northwestern. The pitcher gave up eight hits and seven runs (four earned) over seven innings, striking out 11 and walking two. Wilson took the loss for Southwood Varsity Knights. The left-handed pitcher went four innings, surrendering nine runs (zero earned) on nine hits, striking out one and walking three.
