Southwood Varsity Knights Cannot Hold Onto Lead Versus Eastbrook April 21, 2026 vs. Eastbrook Southwood Varsity Knights could not hold onto the lead against Eastbrook on Tuesday and fell 17-7 despite leading by four at one point. Lovatto drove in five runners in the loss. The right-handed hitter went 2-2 on the day. Southwood Varsity Knights got on the board in the first inning after Lovatto hit a grand slam to left field. Eastbrook flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring six runs on five hits to take the lead, 8-4. The biggest blow in the inning was a sacrifice fly by Peterson that drove in two. An error extended the Eastbrook lead to 9-7 in the bottom of the third inning. Eastbrook scored seven runs on two hits in the bottom of the fifth inning. Freemon doubled, scoring two runs, Legg drew a walk, scoring one run, Peterson tripled, scoring three runs, and Elliott drew a walk, scoring one run. Elliott earned the win for Eastbrook. The starting pitcher surrendered eight hits and seven runs (five earned) over two and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking one. Wilson took the loss for Southwood Varsity Knights. The left-handed pitcher went three innings, giving up nine runs (eight earned) on 11 hits, striking out one and walking three. Southwood Varsity Knights amassed 10 hits in the game. Tyson, Ashba, Schipper, and Lovatto each collected two hits for Southwood Varsity Knights. Southwood Varsity Knights turned one double play in the game. Eastbrook collected 14 hits in the game. Freemon led Eastbrook with five runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The outfielder went 3-for-4 on the day. Pumroy and Freemon each collected three hits for Eastbrook. Legg and Peterson each collected multiple hits for Eastbrook. Eastbrook had patience at the plate, amassing eight walks for the game. Elliott and Elliott led the team with two free passes each.
