Lakers Sweep Holland on Senior Night The Spring Lake varsity volleyball team celebrated Senior Night in style with a dominant straight-set win over Holland on Tuesday evening, taking the match 25-14, 25-18, 25-5. It was a special night for the Lakers as they honored four seniors — Selah Kobylak, Abbigail Kozal, Abbey Rogalski, and Brooke St. George — for their leadership and contributions to the program. The team responded with one of its most consistent performances of the season, controlling the match from start to finish. Senior Abbey Rogalski led the way offensively, delivering an outstanding 13 kills on 19 attempts for an impressive .684 hitting efficiency. Lauren Meigs added 10 kills, while Kozal, St. George, and Peyton Hein each chipped in two. At the service line, Rileigh Fortuna tallied three aces, with Ashlynn O’Donnell, St. George, and Kobylak each adding one. The Lakers’ setters spread the ball effectively, as Fortuna dished out 16 assists and O’Donnell added 11. Defensively, the Lakers stayed sharp at the net with blocks from Kozal, Rogalski, St. George, and Fortuna, while St. George anchored the back row with eight digs. Sage Horton and O’Donnell followed with seven and six digs, respectively. “This was such a fun night to celebrate our seniors,” said the coaching staff. “We put together three very consistent sets, and it was great to see our team execute so well in front of our home crowd.” The Lakers (10-16-2 overall, 2-9 OK Black) return to action Wednesday, October 29, when they host Holland Christian in their regular-season finale.
