Spring Lake Tennis Picks Up Two Wins at Forest Hills Eastern Quad The Spring Lake varsity boys tennis team had a busy Saturday at the Forest Hills Eastern quad, earning victories over Coopersville and Fruitport while also gaining valuable experience against a strong Forest Hills Eastern squad. The Lakers opened the day with a 7-1 win over Coopersville. Spring Lake claimed three straight singles victories from Alex Dull, James Priddy, and Isaac Schaal, while the doubles teams delivered across the board. The No. 4 duo of Joshua Ridlington and Jonah VanHoeven pulled out one of the tightest matches of the day, edging their opponents in a 9-8 (5) tiebreaker to complete the team victory. Spring Lake carried that momentum into its second match, sweeping Fruitport 8-0. The Lakers were dominant in singles, with Ethan Brown, Dull, Priddy, and Schaal all winning in commanding fashion. The doubles lineup kept the pressure on, as each pairing finished with decisive victories to complete the shutout. In the final match of the day, Spring Lake faced host Forest Hills Eastern and dropped a 7-2 decision, but the Lakers still came away with a pair of strong wins. Brown earned a convincing victory at No. 1 singles, and Dull continued his steady play at No. 2 singles with his third win of the day. The quad highlighted Spring Lake’s depth across the lineup, as the team put together a complete performance with contributions from both singles and doubles players.
