In game one of the Petoskey Invitational Tournament, The Spring Lake Lakers were defeated 1-0 by the Shepherd Bluejays. Shepherd pused across the only run of the game in the top of the 6th inning with a suicide squeeze play that would prove to be the winnning run. The Lakers were able to put a runner in scoring position three times, but could not get them in. Maddux Kipling continued his dominance on the mound, throwing a complete game 2 hitter while striking out 6 and walking none in the loss. Owen Smies doubled in the game.
