Varsity vs BIG RAPIDS HIGH SCHOOL (63 - 38) Win Spring Lake Dominates Big Rapids with Strong Shooting and Defense The Spring Lake Lakers set the tone early and never looked back, defeating the Big Rapids Cardinals 63–38 in front of a home crowd Tuesday night. The Lakers exploded out of the gate with a 28–9 first-quarter lead, fueled by sharp shooting and relentless defensive pressure. Baylee Andree led the scoring effort with 18 points, including four three-pointers. Kloe George added 13 points with three triples, while Lexi Baker chipped in 10 points and two threes. Off the bench, Tessa Webber provided a spark with 12 points, and Alex Botbyl contributed 8 points to round out a balanced attack. Head Coach Cori Geoghan praised her team’s execution: “The team was locked in right from the beginning. We wanted to be the aggressors and dictate the pace of the game. They executed the game plan with precision and took advantage of every turnover and loose ball. This team has bought in to our defensive identity and tonight that combined with our shooting was an impressive performance." With the win, Spring Lake improves its record and looks ahead to a marquee matchup this Friday against cross-bridge rival Grand Haven at home.
