Warriors Blank North Harrison 27–0 to Advance to Sectional Championship

SCOTTSBURG, Ind. (Oct. 31, 2025) — The Scottsburg Warriors sent their home crowd home happy Friday night, turning in a dominant performance to defeat the visiting North Harrison Cougars 27–0 in an IHSAA Class 3A Sectional semifinal matchup at Warrior Field. With the victory, Scottsburg improves to 9–2 on the season and advances to the Sectional Championship game for the second time in school history. The Warriors will now travel to Indian Creek (Trafalgar, IN) on Friday, November 7, to face the Braves (7–3), who advanced with a 46–7 win over Madison. Senior quarterback Nathan Byrd directed the Warriors’ offense with poise, completing 10 of 19 passes for 158 yards and three touchdowns without an interception. Byrd connected with Garrett Boling, Kameron Reed, and Luke Hamilton for scoring strikes, keeping the Cougars’ defense off balance throughout the night. The ground game was just as effective, led by senior running back Landon Shuck, who carried 23 times for 200 yards and a touchdown—an average of 8.7 yards per carry. Byrd added 28 yards rushing as the Warriors totaled 222 yards on the ground. Through the air, Reed caught a 30-yard touchdown, Boling hauled in a 31-yard score, and Hamilton added a 19-yard touchdown reception. Matthew Wickey was reliable once again, catching six passes for 50 yards and making plays on defense and special teams—including a 30-yard interception return that helped seal the shutout. Defensively, Scottsburg was relentless. The Warriors allowed no points, forced several negative plays, and totaled nine tackles for loss and three sacks. Senior Jacob June had a monster night with eight tackles, two sacks, and a fumble recovery, while freshman Jaden Jimenez-Downing added another sack. Garrett Boling led the team with 15 total tackles, and Josue Telles and Joshua Thomas each contributed multiple tackles for loss. On special teams, senior Tucker Doriot was steady once again, converting three of four extra-point attempts and handling all kickoffs.
