Scottsburg Cross Country Competes at Shelbyville Regional

The autumn air was crisp and the Blue River Memorial Park course was in prime condition as athletes from across southern Indiana converged for the IHSAA Cross Country Regional. Scottsburg’s runners were among those competing, leaving their mark with determined performances and a display of Warrior grit. In the boys 5k race, Scottsburg’s runners fought hard against a talented field. Junior Kameron Reed led the way for the Warriors, finishing in 135th place with a time of 17:41.1, navigating the challenging course with consistent pacing. Close behind was sophomore Gavin Curley, crossing the finish line in 199th place at 18:49.7, demonstrating steady improvement throughout the season. On the girls’ side, Scottsburg had two runners represent the Warriorettes with pride. Leading the way was Brooklyn Moon, who crossed the finish line in 230th place with a time of 25:17.7. Close behind, Briley Bary finished 236th in 25:58.7, showcasing steady endurance across the challenging course. Both athletes contributed valuable experience for the Scottsburg girls’ team, highlighting their commitment and team spirit. While the competition was fierce, these performances demonstrate that Scottsburg’s boys and girls are continuing to build strength and depth in their program, gaining experience to push higher in the standings in future meets.
