Warriors Roll Past Clarksville 70–7 Behind Balanced Attack

The Scottsburg Warriors football team delivered a dominant road performance Friday night, defeating Clarksville 70–7 in non-conference action. Scottsburg controlled the game from start to finish, piling up 554 total yards while holding the Generals to just 141. The victory improves the Warriors to 6–1 on the season. Explosive Offense Leads the Way Senior quarterback Brayden Kleehammer led a near-flawless offensive attack, completing 6-of-7 passes for 163 yards and four touchdowns. Freshman Caleb Salas added another score through the air, connecting on his only pass for a 37-yard touchdown. In total, Scottsburg finished 7-of-8 passing for 200 yards and five touchdowns. The Warriors also dominated on the ground, rushing for 354 yards on 35 carries. Senior Landon Shuck was unstoppable, racking up 225 yards and a 59-yard touchdown run, averaging over 12 yards per carry. Kleehammer added three rushing touchdowns, and Salas found the end zone once more on the ground to complete a well-balanced offensive showing. Big Plays Through the Air Five different Warriors caught touchdown passes, highlighting the depth and precision of Scottsburg’s passing game. Defense Dominates The Warriors’ defense set the tone early and never let up, limiting Clarksville to 20 rushing yards on 17 carries and forcing constant pressure on the quarterback. Scottsburg recorded six sacks, led by senior Garrett Boling with two. Juniors Mason Coulter, Ayden Acahua, and Josue Telles, along with freshman Jaden Jimenez-Downing, also contributed to the sack total. Wickey’s interception, a fumble recovery, and a blocked kick highlighted an aggressive defensive effort that featured eight tackles for loss and consistent control of the line of scrimmage. Coach’s Perspective “Our team came out focused and took care of business,” Coach Mullins said. “We played fast, physical, and unselfish football. It was great to see contributions from so many guys on both sides of the ball.” Kleehammer tied a school record with 7 total touchdowns, while Tucker Doriot set the school record for made extra points with 10. The Warriors, now 6–1, will look to keep their momentum going when they travel to Eastern (Pekin) on Friday, October 10th for another key matchup.
