Scottsburg Varsity Warriors Storm Back To Defeat Seymour Varsity Owls By GameChanger Media Scottsburg Varsity Warriors trailed by as many as four, but came back to defeat Seymour Varsity Owls on Tuesday, 16-11. Brandt Kendall collected four hits in five at bats in the win. Kendall hit a home run to right field in the first inning, doubled in the sixth inning, singled in the fourth inning, and singled in the seventh inning. Scottsburg Varsity Warriors got on the board in the top of the first inning after Kendall homered to right field, scoring two runs, Caiden Boswell singled, scoring one run, and Ian Gricius singled, scoring one run. In the bottom of the second inning, Seymour Varsity Owls went back into the lead after Brady Harpe singled to right field, Parker Thompson singled to left field, and Mikey Wright singled down the left field line, each scoring one run. In the top of the fourth inning, Scottsburg Varsity Warriors went back into the lead after Ty Roberts walked, and Cale Barger singled down the left field line, each scoring one run. Seymour Varsity Owls flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fourth, scoring five runs on five hits to take the lead, 10-6. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Wright on the sixth pitch of the at-bat that drove in two. Scottsburg Varsity Warriors flipped the game on its head in the top of the seventh, scoring seven runs on five hits to take the lead, 16-11. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Braden Cox following a 6-pitch at-bat that drove in two. Tucker Doriot earned the win for Scottsburg Varsity Warriors. The reliever allowed five hits and three runs (two earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking three. Charlie Rockey took the loss for Seymour Varsity Owls. The pitcher went two-thirds of an inning, surrendering seven runs (two earned) on five hits, striking out one and walking one. Paxton Copple stepped on the hill first for Scottsburg Varsity Warriors. The starting pitcher gave up 10 hits and eight runs (seven earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out one and walking one. Jackson Trueblood opened the game for Seymour Varsity Owls. The starter gave up nine hits and six runs (three earned) over five innings, striking out seven and walking four. Scottsburg Varsity Warriors tallied 17 hits in the game. Boswell led Scottsburg Varsity Warriors with three runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The infielder went 3-for-4 on the day. Barger, Garrett McClellan, Roberts, and Gricius each collected multiple hits for Scottsburg Varsity Warriors. Scottsburg Varsity Warriors had patience at the plate, accumulating nine walks for the game. McClellan and Rikelme Pinto-Herrera led the team with two walks each. Cox stole two bases.
