Runs Hard To Come By In Scottsburg Varsity Warriors Win Versus Lanesville By GameChanger Media Both teams were strong on the hill on Saturday, but Scottsburg Varsity Warriors defeated Lanesville 3-2. Garrett McClellan started the game for Scottsburg Varsity Warriors and recorded 21 outs. Scottsburg Varsity Warriors didn't take the lead until later in the game. The game was tied at two in the bottom of the sixth when Cale Barger singled, scoring one run. Scottsburg Varsity Warriors were the first to get on the board in the fourth when Ty Roberts singled, scoring one run. A single by Hall gave Lanesville the lead, 2-1, in the top of the fifth. Scottsburg Varsity Warriors jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning after Roberts singled to the left side of the infield, and Barger singled to center field, each scoring one run. McClellan earned the win for Scottsburg Varsity Warriors. The pitcher allowed three hits and two runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out 10 and walking one. Payne took the loss for Lanesville. The hurler went two-thirds of an inning, surrendering zero runs on one hit, striking out one and walking none. Elrod stepped on the mound first for Lanesville. The starting pitcher allowed four hits and three runs over five and one-third innings, striking out eight and walking two. Roberts provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Scottsburg Varsity Warriors with two runs batted in. The catcher went 2-for-3 on the day. Scottsburg Varsity Warriors stole four bases in the game. Gurensey, Hall, and Campbell each collected one hit for Lanesville. Hall led Lanesville with two runs batted in. The center fielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Lanesville didn't commit a single error in the field. Campbell had the most chances in the field with 11.
