HENRYVILLE — Scottsburg’s boys golf season came to an end Thursday at the IHSAA Regional at Champions Pointe Golf Club, where the Warriors competed against some of the state’s top programs and finished 10th in a strong 15-team field. Scottsburg posted a team score of 338, finishing ahead of Shelbyville, Franklin County, Union County, Richmond, and Southwestern. The Warriors earned their regional berth after advancing out of sectional play and capped off another successful season by competing on one of Indiana’s premier championship courses. The Warriors were led by junior Jarin Luttrell, who fired a team-best 79. Luttrell played steady golf throughout the day, highlighted by a birdie on the par-3 fourth hole and a strong 1-over-par 37 on the back nine. Lucas Miller added an 81 for Scottsburg, giving the Warriors a pair of scores in the low 80s. Miller recorded pars on 11 holes and provided a consistent round on a challenging Champions Pointe layout. Paxton Copple contributed an 88, while Jace Luttrell carded a 90 to complete the Warriors’ team scoring. Nick Consley shot a 97 while competing as Scottsburg’s fifth golfer. The regional was won by Center Grove with a team score of 298, followed by Franklin Community (308), Floyd Central (309), Corydon Central (310), and New Albany (315). Batesville finished sixth at 316, while Columbus North placed seventh at 330. Although the Warriors did not advance to the state finals, reaching the regional stage marked another accomplishment for the program. Scottsburg competed well against a field that included several of Indiana’s most successful golf teams and gained valuable postseason experience. With a mix of returning talent and postseason experience throughout the lineup, the Warriors will look to build on this season’s success as they prepare for next year.
