Scottsburg, IN — Scott County School District 2 Athletics has announced that all elementary soccer matches scheduled for this evening have been canceled due to unsafe field conditions following recent weather. Heavy rainfall throughout yesterday and continuing into last night has left fields saturated and unplayable. Standing water and soft ground conditions present safety concerns for student-athletes and increase the risk of injury, prompting the decision to cancel today’s matches. “Our top priority is the safety of our students,” said Donald Conner, SCSD2 Elementary Athletic Director. “While we know our athletes and families look forward to these games, the current field conditions simply do not allow for safe play.” At this time, no makeup dates have been announced. Coaches and families will be notified if and when rescheduling information becomes available.
