SEYMOUR, Ind. — The Scottsburg Warriors boys golf team battled windy conditions and a tough course to earn a tri-meet victory Tuesday at Shadowood Golf Course. Facing Trinity Lutheran and Henryville, the Warriors posted a team score of 176, topping Trinity Lutheran (187) and Henryville (204) in a competitive outing. Scottsburg relied on strong depth across its lineup to secure the win. Lucas Miller led the Warriors with a 42, followed closely by Jace Luttrell (43). Nick Conley and Maddix Melker each carded 44s, while Paxton Copple added a 45 to round out the scoring. While Scottsburg did not claim medalist honors, the team’s consistency proved to be the difference. All five scoring players finished within just three strokes of each other, helping the Warriors overcome the challenging, windy conditions at Shadowood. Trinity Lutheran’s Broady earned medalist honors with an impressive 39, the lowest round of the meet. Despite the weather, Scottsburg avoided big numbers and played steady golf throughout the round — a key factor in pulling away in the team standings. With another win under their belt, the Warriors continue to build momentum early in the season, showing both depth and reliability as they head into upcoming matches.
