The Scottsburg Warriors delivered an outstanding performance at home Thursday night, earning an 80–54 victory over the Madison Consolidated Cubs in a non-conference showdown. The Warriors’ balanced scoring attack and tenacious effort on both ends of the floor thrilled the home crowd and showcased their depth and growth this season. Scottsburg came out strong in the first quarter, edging Madison 15–16, and then pulled away by outscoring the Cubs 20–9 in the second to take control of the game. The Warriors continued to build on their lead in the second half, posting another 17 points in the third and a decisive 28 points in the fourth quarter to secure the 26-point victory. Warrior Highlights: - Jaxon Owens led all scorers with 20 points, doing damage efficiently from both inside and beyond the arc. - Garrett Boling added 17 points, grabbing 11 rebounds to post a double-double and anchoring the paint on both ends. - Jarin Luttrell chipped in 11 points, while Braden Cox contributed 9 points and 5 assists, keeping the Warriors moving on offense. - Caiden Boswell contributed 9 points as part of the balanced scoring effort. - Bennett Pearcy and Braelyn Kleehammer also hit the scoreboard, helping Scottsburg spread the offense. Scottsburg shot a strong 46.9% from the field and connected on 7 three-pointers, while forcing the Cubs into turnovers and controlling the glass with 40 rebounds. The Warriors’ defense limited Madison to 30.4% shooting, holding the Cubs to just 2 made threes on the night. For Madison, Braysen Russell led the Cubs with 24 points, and Gabe Fife added 15, but Scottsburg’s relentless pressure proved too much over four quarters.
