Scottsburg Falls to North Harrison in Competitive Dual Meet, 42–29

The Scottsburg Warriors battled through a challenging lineup Tuesday night but ultimately fell to North Harrison, 42–29, in a hard-fought wrestling dual that featured several exciting individual performances and momentum swings throughout the evening. The meet began at 126 pounds with a double forfeit, keeping the score tied at 0–0. North Harrison struck first at 132, where Aiden Howard secured a fall over Braxton Severinsen to give the Cougars an early lead. Scottsburg answered back at 138 pounds behind a dominant performance from James Logan Salkeld. Salkeld controlled the match from start to finish, earning a 17–0 technical fall to put the Warriors on the board and narrow the gap to 6–5. North Harrison regained momentum in the middle weights, picking up points through a combination of falls and forfeits from 144 through 175 pounds. Despite Scottsburg’s effort, the Cougars stretched their lead to 36–5 during that stretch. The Warriors showed resilience in the upper weights. At 190 pounds, Hayden Wycoff energized the Scottsburg bench with a quick fall in just 1:23. Elijah Helton followed with another fast pin at 215 pounds, ending his match in 1:32 and bringing Scottsburg closer on the scoreboard. After a forfeit win for North Harrison at heavyweight, the dual wrapped back around to the lower weights. Scottsburg closed the night strong with back-to-back forfeit victories from Beau Carter at 113 and Lucas Wimp at 120, adding valuable team points and finishing the meet with momentum. Despite the final score, Scottsburg showcased grit, growth, and several standout performances that will serve them well moving forward. The Warriors will look to build on the positives as they continue their season and prepare for upcoming competition.
