Scottsburg Athletics Announces October Athletes of the Month

Scottsburg High School Athletics is proud to recognize Sophie Gricius (Volleyball), Braelyn Kleehammer (Football), and Tucker Doriot (Football) as our October Athletes of the Month. Each of these student-athletes delivered outstanding performances and achievements that reflect the dedication, excellence, and tradition of Scottsburg Athletics. Sophie Gricius – Volleyball Senior defensive specialist Sophie Gricius reached an incredible milestone in October by recording her 1,000th career dig, solidifying her place among the top defensive players in program history. Gricius’ consistent effort, court awareness, and leadership have been instrumental to the Warriors’ success this season. In addition to her on-court accomplishments, Gricius was also recognized for her excellence in the classroom. She was named Academic All-State and earned All–Mid-Southern Conference honors, exemplifying the true definition of a student-athlete. Braelyn Kleehammer – Football Senior quarterback Braelyn Kleehammer had a historic performance in Scottsburg’s dominant 70–7 victory over Clarksville, earning him IndyStar Player of the Week honors. Kleehammer completed 6 of 7 passes for 163 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for 31 yards and three touchdowns. His seven total touchdowns tied a school record, showcasing his efficiency, athleticism, and command of the offense. Tucker Doriot – Football Senior kicker Tucker Doriot had a record-setting month for the Warriors, beginning with a new school record of 10 PATs in the win over Clarksville. That performance also helped him set the single-season school record for PATs, converting 78 of 90 attempts (90%). Doriot’s impact extends beyond one game or season. He is tied for the school record in career field goals and ranks 12th all-time in scoring at Scottsburg High School. His consistency, accuracy, and reliability on special teams have made him a key contributor to the Warriors’ success. Congratulations to Sophie, Braelyn, and Tucker on being named October Athletes of the Month. Their achievements reflect the hard work, commitment, and pride that define Scottsburg Athletics.
