SCOTTSBURG — The Scottsburg Warriors delivered a complete performance Wednesday night, cruising to a 73–38 win over the Austin Eagles at home. From the opening tip, the Warriors set the tone with crisp ball movement, hot perimeter shooting, and relentless defense, never allowing Austin to find a rhythm. Scottsburg jumped out early, outscoring the Eagles 25–15 in the first quarter. The Warriors continued to widen the gap in the second, using pressure defense to spark transition chances and taking a 46–24 lead into halftime. Any hope of an Austin rally was shut down after the break, as Scottsburg won the third quarter 18–9 and finished strong in the fourth to seal the 35-point victory. The Warriors’ efficiency was the story of the night. Scottsburg shot 27-of-46 from the floor (58.7%) and buried 16 three-pointers on 29 attempts (55.2%). The balanced attack featured multiple players in double figures and steady playmaking throughout the lineup. Garrett Boling led all Warriors with 18 points and controlled the glass with 10 rebounds. Braden Cox and Bennett Pearcy each added 15 points, with Cox knocking down three triples and Pearcy consistently finishing in the paint while also handing out a team-high 7 assists. Caiden Boswell and Jarin Luttrell chipped in 11 points apiece, giving Scottsburg five players in double digits. Defensively, Scottsburg held Austin to 14-of-49 shooting (28.6%) and just 6-for-25 from three-point range. The Warriors also won the rebounding battle 33–23 and turned stops into offense, recording 19 assists on 27 made field goals. Austin was led by Tracen Roush with 18 points, including three three-pointers, but the Eagles struggled to generate consistent offense against the Warriors’ pressure and depth. With the win, Scottsburg continues to build momentum, showing the kind of unselfish play and defensive intensity that can carry into the heart of the season. The Warriors will look to keep that energy rolling into their next matchup.
