The Scottsburg Warriorrettes came up just short Saturday night, falling 54–50 to the visiting North Harrison Lady Cats in a hard-fought four-quarter battle. Scottsburg set the tone early, jumping out to a 10–5 lead after the first period behind strong defensive pressure and good looks in transition. North Harrison answered in the second quarter, using a 21-point frame to take control heading into halftime with a 26–16 advantage. The Warriorrettes didn’t fold. Scottsburg surged in the third, outscoring the Lady Cats 20–17 to cut into the deficit (North Harrison led 43–36). Scottsburg continued to chip away late, winning the final quarter 14–11, but North Harrison was able to close from the free-throw line to hold on for the win. Offensively, Scottsburg was led by KK Grogan with 13 points, including a perfect 3-for-3 night at the line. Addison Eldridge added 12 points and knocked down three triples, while Georgia McNeely and Addison Elliott each scored 10. Brooklyn Moon contributed across the board with 3 points, 4 rebounds, and a team-high 5 assists. As a team, Scottsburg finished with 19 field goals and seven three-pointers. The Warriorrettes also forced pressure points defensively, recording six steals and staying active on the glass. North Harrison edged Scottsburg on the boards 38–28 and earned extra opportunities at the stripe, going 11-for-17 at the free-throw line compared to Scottsburg’s 5-for-7. North Harrison was paced by Grace Goldman, who poured in 33 points on 12-of-24 shooting and added 9 rebounds. Her scoring burst in the middle quarters proved to be the difference as the Lady Cats improved to 1-4 on the season. Scottsburg showed grit and composure to battle back from a double-digit halftime deficit and had chances down the stretch, but ultimately couldn’t complete the comeback. The Warriorrettes will look to build off the strong second-half response as they continue through the early portion of the season.
