Saginaw United proudly recognizes Ahnyala Eichelberger and Jovell Robinson as two of its top scholar-athletes, honoring their outstanding achievements in academics, athletics, leadership, and community service. Eichelberger has distinguished herself as one of the top academic performers in the district, earning a 4.087 GPA while also excelling as a dual-enrolled student at Delta College. She has maintained a perfect 4.0 college GPA and earned President’s List honors each semester. Her academic excellence has been recognized through multiple honors, including the MLK Scholarship and the Mitt Radio Scholarship. A dedicated multi-sport athlete, Eichelberger has competed at the varsity level in volleyball, tennis, and flag football, serving as a captain for the volleyball team. Known for her consistency and leadership, she has been a key contributor both on and off the court. Beyond athletics, Eichelberger has taken on significant leadership roles, including Student Council Vice President, Youth Ambassador Leader, and National Honor Society Volunteer Coordinator. Her commitment to service is equally impactful, with volunteer work that includes tutoring elementary students, supporting the East Side Soup Kitchen, assisting with community outreach events, and speaking on issues such as gun violence and drug awareness. She plans to attend U of M Ann Arbor to study psychology, with the goal of becoming a psychologist and continuing her work helping others. Robinson has also made his mark as a well-rounded student-athlete, maintaining a 3.81 GPA while earning honors such as the Saginaw Valley Award of Excellence and the Albion College Initial Honor Scholar Award. A standout multi-sport athlete, Robinson has competed in football, track, and wrestling, earning Offensive MVP and All-Saginaw Valley honors in football. He also etched his name in school history by scoring the first touchdown on Saginaw United’s home field. His athletic performance has placed him among top competitors at both the division and state levels. In addition to his athletic success, Robinson has demonstrated leadership through his involvement in Student Council and his participation in the Saginaw Youth Violence Prevention Summit, where he spoke to younger students about making positive choices. His community involvement also includes volunteering at the East Side Soup Kitchen and contributing to local service efforts. Robinson plans to continue his academic and athletic career at The University of Olivet while pursuing a degree in business. Together, Eichelberger and Robinson exemplify the values of Saginaw United through their dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence. Their achievements reflect not only personal success, but also a lasting impact on their school and community.
