Saginaw United kicked off their season with an exciting and hard-fought match against SASA. In their first game of the year, the team showed major improvement, scoring more goals than in any single game last season. Tentine Igirubuntu and LaKayla McCall both scored two goals to keep the Phoenix within striking distance right until the final seconds. Despite coming up just short in a 5–4 loss, Saginaw United demonstrated determination, teamwork, and resilience from start to finish. The team played with great energy, supported one another on the field, and displayed outstanding sportsmanship. It was a promising start to the season and a strong foundation to build on moving forward.
