Fall Sports are all in full throttle and here is a spotlight on last week. Girls Golf started the match season a few weeks ago and has shown a lot of improvement with each round. The Falcons welcome Senior Audrey Stroud and Junior Avery Richey back after missing last season with injuries and they have not missed a beat leading the team. Audrey Stroud earned medalist honors against Whiteland along with PRs by Freshman Kailee Ellis. Junior Frida Santillan De Santiago, Senior Emmi Cody, Senior Madi Murray, and Junior Avery Richey shot PRs at the Ben Davis Invitational. Girls Cross Country had another highlight-filled weekend after the opening weekend Pike Hokum Karem success. Following up a program-best third-place finish at Pike, the Falcons finished runner-up at the Fountain Central Grand Prix. Sophomore Kairi Ghent ran a personal best to earn the Individual Championship followed by Junior Lorelei Boesgaard's third-place finish. Rounding out the top 15 was Freshman Maddie Burk in 12th. Boys Cross Country was able to go back-to-back first-place finishes at the Fountain Central Grand Prix. Senior Alec Dial picked up right where he left off last season, finishing as the fastest overall runner. Junior Cooper Miles finished 5th followed by Senior Blake Moore in 14th and Junior Ben Haun in 15th. Volleyball brought home Coach Bailey Schnell's first career win with a program sweep of Mid-State foe, Decatur Central. The Falcons showed improvement throughout the Plainfield Invite including a 3-set come-from-behind victory over Linton-Stockton. The Falcons are led at the net by Senior Lydia Hartman's 4.1 kills per game and Senior Nadia Kreich's 12 blocks. Junior Peyton Kocher locks down the back row with 75 digs on the season. Boys Soccer started the season against 3-time State Champion Noblesville last week, ending the night in an impressive 1-1 tie. The Falcons then started the conference win streak with victories over Greenwood and Decatur Central. Junior Bawi Bik Hnin leads with 6 points, including 3 goals scored. Girls Soccer's Coach Van Lian used a goal by Senior Lana Mack to earn his first career victory as the Falcon Head Coach. The team has battled in both conference games last week going 1-1 in Mid-State action. Senior Sofi Terrell also has a goal on the season in the game with Lawrence Central. Tennis picked up a conference victory over Decatur Central to give the Falcons a clean slate over the Hawks for the week in Mid-State action. The doubles team of Vincent Li and Hosea Sang has been strong for the Falcons. The team traveled south to compete in the Center Grove Extravaganza and came home with valuable experience against tough opponents. Unified Football kicked off the season at Whiteland for the Warrior's first Unified Football game in their school history. Coach Cooper received an IHSAA exemplary report from Whiteland's AD for her assistance in getting the Unified Sports programs started in their community. Football rounds out our recap. The Varsity started the season on the road and found high points during the second half. Senior Ethan Neffle led the receivers with 70 yards delivered by Senior Quarterback Allen Zupan. Senior Jon Hunter found the endzone with two rushing touchdowns. #falconsNEVERalone
