The Plainfield cross country teams competed in the regional meet this past weekend, and both squads turned in strong performances with several personal best times on the season. GIRLS TEAM: The girls finished 11th out of 25 teams, highlighted by Adisyn Gorrell’s outstanding performance. Adisyn advanced to the State Meet at the Lavern Gibson course next Saturday after finishing 31st overall in a highly competitive field. She made a powerful push after the 3K mark to secure her qualifying spot. "Adisyn raced so well. She passed something like twenty runners in the middle of the race to punch her ticket to the state finals. In doing so, she ran the 3rd fastest 5k in school history with a time of 18:57. Just a great effort to race your best in a big-time race!" Coach Woodson Other strong finishes included: Katie Campbell – 46th Tinley Woodruff – 50th Hailey Kelley – 120th Madison Weaver – 123rd BOYS TEAM: The boys' team placed 16th out of 25 teams, led by Ryan Evans, who qualified for State with an impressive 19th-place finish. Ryan also earned All-Regional honors, utilizing the wooded section of the Brownsburg course to make up significant ground as the race progressed. "I am really proud of the growth and development we saw over the course of the season. With a young team, it is great to see them put the pieces together over the season and continue building toward the future. Ryan had a fantastic day on Saturday. He raced with the perfect balance of patience and urgency, building momentum throughout the race. We are excited to toe the line with the state's best on Saturday and see where we lie!" Coach Arvin. Additional results: Zane Deugan – 51st Jackson Hayes – 126th Connor Wright – 165th Zac Siddons – 171st Both teams had several PRs in a super competitive race! Congratulations to Coach Arvin and Coach Woodson on another fantastic team season for both cross country teams.
