Quaker Football Defeats Greenwood on Homecoming, Improves to 5-0

The Plainfield football team stayed unbeaten Friday night with a dominant 49-14 win over Greenwood, moving to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in Mid-State Conference play. The Quakers set the tone early, scoring 14 points in the first quarter and adding 21 more in the second to take a commanding 35-7 halftime lead. Offensively, the Quakers were led by Luke Starnes, who powered his way to 208 rushing yards on 16 carries with 2 touchdowns. Corran McGill added 45 yards on the ground, while Kayvon Meux contributed 25 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Bryce Sebanc was sharp, finishing 11-of-15 passing for 205 yards and 4 touchdowns. The offensive line—Wrigley Matthews, Connor Denaut, Harrison Layman, Michael Fontaine, and Alex Fodge—controlled the line of scrimmage all night. Zander Nattam had another huge performance with 118 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns, while Ty White chipped in with 2 catches for 39 yards and a score. Plainfield finished with 19 first downs in the win. Defensively, the Quakers were led by Mason Mantooth with 9 tackles and Jacob Dellinger with 7 tackles. Before the game, the 2000 State Runner-up football team was recognized for its amazing season and run to the title game.
