The Plainfield boys soccer team picked up its first conference victory of the season Thursday night, defeating Whiteland 2-0 in Mid-State Conference action. After a scoreless first half, the Quakers broke through in the 54th minute when junior Raiden Brandgard found the back of the net to give Plainfield a 1-0 lead. Senior Cameron Carman added insurance 14 minutes later, scoring in the 68th minute to secure the win for the Quakers. With the victory, Plainfield improves to 1-1 on the season and 1-0 in Mid-State play. The Quakers return to action on Tuesday when they travel to face Terre Haute South. The JV match is scheduled to kick off at 6:00 p.m., followed by varsity.
