The Portland boys tennis team was able to defend home court last night with a victory over Charlotte, 5-3. 1 Singles Ty Clark, 1 Doubles Sam Nobis and Cooper Thayer, and 4 Doubles Dominic Fabiano and Grayson Graham were dominate in their matches. Clark and Nobis/Thayer both won 6-0, 6-0, while Fabiano/Graham won 6-0, 6-1. The Raiders 2 Doubles flight of Gage Larson and Jacob Heinicke were solid in their match winning 6-1, 6-3. Josh Seavey at 2 Singles clinched the win for the Raiders in a grueling battle. After splitting the first two sets 6-3 and 4-6, Josh was able to win the third set in a tiebreaker, 11-9. This brings the Raiders to 2-0 in the league. 5 Singles Justice Xiu also won his exhibition set, 6-1. The boys tennis team will be hosting their annual Memorial Quad on Saturday, then facing Lansing Catholic next Wednesday.
