Trojans Volleyball Show Continued Growth in Conference Matchup with Lake Fenton

By Nick VanDuser | Oct 1, 2026 1:56 PM

Owosso Volleyball fell to Lake Fenton in three sets Wednesday night, 17-25, 23-25, 17-25, but the Trojans continued to show progress against a strong and familiar conference opponent. The teams had met just days earlier at Saturday’s Power League, giving Owosso an opportunity to make adjustments and measure its growth in a short turnaround. While the Trojans came up short in the rematch, their improvement was evident, particularly in a tightly contested second set that came down to the final points before Lake Fenton escaped with a 25-23 win. Freshman Aspyn Brock led an efficient Owosso attack, finishing with nine kills on 17 attempts and a .412 hitting percentage, while also contributing three total blocks. Junior Breeah Reed added nine kills and six digs. Senior Ady Freeman provided a spark from the service line with five aces, while senior Nevaeh LeConte led the Trojan defense with 13 digs and added an ace. Setters Ainsley Lintner and Kristie Caswell combined for 20 assists as Owosso finished the match with 25 kills and seven service aces. Although the final result wasn't what Owosso was looking for, the match provided another example of the team's consistent improvement throughout the season. Facing the same opponent twice in five days allowed the Trojans to identify areas for improvement, make adjustments and return to the court better prepared to compete. Owosso continues to focus on growth, resilience and becoming more consistent from point to point. Wednesday's performance showed another step forward as the Trojans work toward playing their best volleyball heading into the final stretch of the season. Final: Lake Fenton def. Owosso, 3-0 Set scores: 17-25, 23-25, 17-25
