The Owosso Boys Cross Country team opened Flint Metro League competition in impressive fashion Wednesday at Corunna High School, finishing first overall in the Stars Division at the first FML Jamboree of the season. The Trojans put together a strong team performance, led by sophomore Leonidas Erfourth, who was the first Owosso runner across the finish line. Erfourth placed 6th overall with a time of 16:52.76. Junior Brady Rappuhn was close behind, earning a 9th-place finish in 17:01.57, giving the Trojans two runners inside the top 10. Freshman Spencer Sobak continued an impressive start to his high school career, finishing 14th overall with a time of 17:26.09. Senior Kai Miller crossed the line in 24th place at 18:12.71, while sophomore Graesyn Baley rounded out Owosso's top five in 25th place with a personal-best time of 18:23.17. Junior Samuel Baade was next for the Trojans, placing 31st with a season-best time of 18:46.17. Freshman Raymond Brabo also turned in a personal-best performance, finishing 43rd in 19:15.16. Owosso's depth continued with sophomore Julian Munoz placing 58th in 20:20.12, sophomore Max Nicholson finishing 61st in 20:43.15, and freshman Brayden Nicholson taking 64th in 20:52.57. With strong performances throughout the lineup, the Trojans came away from the opening league jamboree sitting atop the Flint Metro League Stars Division. The first-place finish gives Owosso an excellent start to the FML portion of its season as the Trojans look to build on the momentum throughout the remainder of league competition.
