The Owosso Varsity Volleyball team battled Lake Fenton at home Wednesday night, falling to the Blue Devils in three competitive sets, 17-25, 23-25 and 20-25. The Trojans showed grit throughout the match, continuing to battle and putting together strong stretches on both sides of the ball. Owosso pushed Lake Fenton to the wire in the second set, but ultimately couldn't find enough momentum to overpower the Blue Devils. Ady Freeman led the Trojan offense with 8 kills, while also contributing 6 digs, 3 assists and 2 block assists. Breeah Reed delivered a strong all-around performance with 5 kills, 11 digs and 4 aces, providing an impact both offensively and from the service line. Addie Miculka added 4 kills, 3 aces and 3 block assists, while Aspyn Brock contributed 3 kills and 3 blocks, including one solo block and two block assists. Alaina Butte helped Owosso defensively at the net with 3 blocks — one solo and two assists — while adding 2 aces and 4 digs. Ainsley Lintner directed the Trojan offense with a team-high 10 assists, while Ryder Elwell anchored the back-row defense with a team-leading 12 digs. Despite the loss, Owosso continued to show fight and flashes of strong play against a tough Lake Fenton squad as the Trojans work to build consistency and momentum moving forward.
