The Owosso JV Boys Soccer team turned in a strong all-around performance, earning a convincing 5-0 victory behind excellent team play on both ends of the field. The Trojans controlled possession throughout the match, moving the ball effectively through the back and consistently winning 50/50 balls. Owosso’s ability to connect passes and build its attack as a team helped create scoring opportunities throughout the contest. Bennett Scrimger opened the scoring for the Trojans before Spencer Sobak took over offensively. Sobak found the back of the net three times to complete a hat trick, including one goal set up by an outstanding assist from Cooper Collard. Max Nicholson put the finishing touches on the victory with the fifth and final goal, unleashing a long-range strike to cap off the Owosso scoring. On the defensive end, the Trojans were equally impressive. Owosso limited its opponent’s opportunities by controlling the midfield and working the ball effectively out of the back. Goalkeeper Layne Martin recorded two saves to preserve the clean sheet.
