On Saturday, the girls XC team had an amazing evening running “Under the Lights” at St. Johns. With glow sticks, a fun atmosphere, and the entire course lit up, it was such a fun night to kick off the season. We saw some major improvements from last year! Abby Crandell led the team by finishing 7th overall with a 20:22 improving from 21:04. Penny Ewald, a new freshman, had an outstanding first high school race, finishing 19th with a time of 21:40. Ava Spencer, a returning runner ran 23:49 dropping nearly two minutes from her time last year. Miriam Skarich finished with a time of 24:48. Summer Walker took 33 seconds of her time from last year with a time of 25:00. Grace Ockerman made a huge jump, taking nearly 3 minutes off her time from last year! And Maggie Powers ran her first HS XC race and did an amazing job! So proud of the hard work and positive attitude these girls brought to the course. We are just getting started and looking forward to a great season!
